Animation Adaptation–Hugely popular animated series Avatar: The Legend of Korra is set for a video game adaptation by none other than developers of Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Platinum Games.
The surprise announcement was made yesterday by IGN, and seems like something of a match made in heaven for fans of the series. Platinum Games have established themselves as some of the masters of character action games over the past few years, a genre that the elemental powers of The Legend of Korra would seem to mesh perfectly with.
However, it has to be said that there’s plenty on Platinum’s plate at present. Bayonetta 2 is currently in development for the Wii U, and mysterious Xbox One title Scalebound is presumably also being worked upon extensively. The Legend of Korra is set to be a digital download, so perhaps it won’t require the resources of those two other games, but it still remains to be seen how Platinum will juggle the several projects they currently have underway.
The Legend of Korra is set for release before the end of 2014, and will be available on PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
