Developers inXile are running a project on Get Localization wherein fans can contribute their language know-how to help speed up the process of releasing the game worldwide. French, Italian, German and Spanish versions of the game are set to be released, so anyone with good fluency in any of those tongues is being encouraged to help out.

According to a post on the official Wasteland 2 forums, the intention is to have volunteers sift through the massive amount of text and dialogue in the game to begin making progress towards the end goal of a full translation. Resources including a style guide will be made available to volunteers to make sure that the tone of the game is well preserved. Once this is done, professional editors will join the project to help smooth off any uneven edges and make sure that everything it up to the high standards of the rest of the game.

Wasteland 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the groundbreaking PC RPG Wasteland, released in 1988. Amassing nearly $3 million in Kickstarter pledges back in 2012, the game will be released in full later this year.
